Safety Policies

Riding

All riders (anyone sitting on a horse) must wear proper riding equipment, including an ASTM/SEI-certified helmet and boots with at least a 1/2-inch heel.

All riders must sign a Riding Waiver before mounting.

All riding instructors must be licensed, and provide the barn owner with a copy of said license.

Horses are to be mounted/dismounted outside of the barn only - no riders on horses in the barn!

Proper supervision is required for novice/very young riders.

Please be respectful when sharing the ring - ensure that the other rider is comfortable with what you and your horse are about to do, and call "Door!" when entering/exiting the arena.

barn safety

Please do not feed, move, or enter the stall of another boarder's horse without the permission of the barn or horse owner.

No running in the barn and/or around the horses.

No smoking within twenty feet of the barn.

General Tidiness:

  • If you open a gate, please close it.
  • Pick up after yourself and your horse in common areas (the arena, tacking stalls, barn aisle, etc.)
  • If you borrow something, put it back.

Inclement Weather:

  • In the event of inclement weather, please contact the barn owner before visiting your horse to ensure that our road and driveway are clear and accessible.
